Konso Cultural Landscape is a 55km2 arid property of stone walled terraces and fortified settlements in the Konso highlands of Ethiopia. It constitutes a spectacular example of a living cultural tradition stretching back 21 generations (more than 400 years) adapted to its dry hostile environment.

Just south of Addis Ababa the road leads down to the bottom of the Great Rift Valley where a row of interesting lakes are found. These Rift Valley Lakes harbor a great natural diversity but are also very important for the (local) economy of Ethiopia.

Not far from Bale Mountains is one of the world's most spectacular and extensive underground caverns: the Sof Omar cave system. The Weib River, which sources from the Bale Mountains National Park, penetrates the caves year round, offering a magnificent view to the visitors.
